The big story this week involves a comment made by Aaron Rodgers on Pat McAfee’s show, where he is a frequent guest, claiming late-night host Jimmy Kimmel was associated with Jeffrey Epstein and implying he was on the list of unsealed names soon to be revealed. Kimmel has vehemently denied any involvement with Epstein and threatened a lawsuit if Rodgers does not apologize for the false accusation. Will Rodgers find himself without a $1M per episode guest hosting gig on McAfee’s ESPN show, and can we expect some major pushback at the network level? Does he thrive on controversy, as evidenced by his immunization debacle during the pandemic, and what does it mean for his football career?

The Denver Broncos have asked Russell Wilson to change his contract in 2025 so they won’t have to pay him his $37M salary if he is injured. It’s not surprising that teams don’t want to pay out the big bucks to players who are hurt early in the season and then relegated to the disabled list, but is it even a reasonable request to make of a player who is, arguably, in one of the most injury-prone professions out there? Was there an underlying issue between Wilson and the coach that brought it about, especially after Wilson had a productive season?

The highly-anticipated college football championship game between #1 Michigan and #2 Washington has the traditional Rose Bowl foes facing off across the gridiron in Houston. Is Jim Harbaugh seemingly unstoppable this season despite several roadblocks in his path? He could sign a multi-year deal with Michigan, but there are rumors of his moving to the NFL very soon, being courted by both the Raiders and the Chargers. Or will Michael Penix Jr., whose abilities are laying the groundwork for a possible first-round draft pick slot, lead the Huskies in a last-hurrah victory for the Pac-12?
