So much of our lives are connected to our financial well-being that it’s impossible to separate the two. Last year, Edelman Financial Engines launched a new podcast, Everyday Wealth, a weekly show exploring the dynamic intersection of life, money, and the many decisions attached to a dollar. A groundbreaking study, Everyday Wealth in America, was also launched to help explore these important money matters and gain insights into how people form opinions and make decisions relative to their own financial values and goals.

Now, Edelman Financial Engines share key findings from the second edition of the study, Everyday Wealth in America 2023, continuing to uncover the ways people engage with their wealth and offer solutions for taking better control of their financial well-being. Everyday Wealth host Jean Chatzky, who is best known as the financial editor of TODAY for 25 years, and Jason Van de Loo, a Chief Client Officer of Edelman Financial Engines, discuss the results of the most recent study. Some of the findings include:

  • ATTITUDE AWARENESS — What does it really mean to be “wealthy” today?
  • FINANCIAL FIDELITY — How are personal finance issues contributing to gray divorce?
  • SOCIAL MEDIA IMPACTS — How is social media FOMO impacting financial decisions?
  • INFLATION, RECESSION & MORE — What’s worrying people most about the economy?

Jean Chatzky, aside from hosting Everyday Wealth, is the CEO of HerMoney Media, a company focused on leveling the financial playing field for women. Jean has been the financial editor of NBC’s TODAY show for 25 years and the financial ambassador for AARP. She appears frequently on CNN and MSNBC and was a recurring guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show. She is an award-winning journalist and a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author.

Jason Van de Loo is Executive VP & Co-Chief Client Officer at Edelman Financial Engines. As a Chief Client Officer, Jason is responsible for driving client centricity and growth for the firm.
