One of the longest-standing NCAA football rivalries will play out again as the USC Trojans face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. What does Lincoln Riley need to do to stop Marcus Freeman? Do the Irish have a stronger running game, and can the Trojans defend against it? Even though USC is undefeated, have they dropped in the standings? The Fighting Irish have lost their last two games, so will this be the opportunity to turn that streak around?

The Dodgers, Braves, and Orioles have all fallen in the postseason. Did having a week off between the regular and postseason for some teams affect performances and cause them to go stale? Are teams that were hot in August spent when it comes to October? Does the number of games make the difference, with the format changed to the best out of five instead of seven? Dave Roberts remarked that even in a seven-game series, losing the first three games means you’ve been outplayed. Can he prevent the Dodgers from falling into that pattern next season?
