The implosion of the Pac-12 continues as Cal and Stanford have now made a deal with the Atlantic Coast Conference, leaving Oregon State and Washington State as the two remaining teams. Will they also decide to depart, possibly joining the Mountain West Conference? How will teams who have always been part of regional rivalries adapt to weekly travel to the Midwest and East Coast as their new normal? Can the schools financially afford the paradigm shift in transportation logistics, as well as the mental and physical toll on the athletes? Have the hallmark traditions that always defined college football become a thing of the past? Will the quest for better funding be worth the chaos that has been created? Is Larry Scott coming back as commissioner to rebuild the once-mighty Conference of Champions?

The 49ers have traded former third-round overall draft pick Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys for a fourth-round draft pick to provide a backup for quarterback Dak Prescott. Does he have great potential after a rough ride in San Francisco? Is he starting from ground zero again and looking at his new assignment as an opportunity to shine?

Do Matt Stafford and the Rams have a challenging season ahead? Is there a generational gap between Stafford and the current younger lineup? Are they going to be outdone by that other LA team, the Chargers? Was winning the Super Bowl to inaugurate their new stadium at SoFi a tough act to follow and too difficult financially and physically to support being able to continue succeeding at that level?
