Football, Football, Football!

Football is the name of the game this week, and Fred and Art explore the surprising (and maybe not so surprising) developments on and off the field. Where will all of the Covid craziness end? Did Antonio Brown buy his Covid 19 vaccination card? Will Aaron Rodgers pay his $15,000 fine? Do high-level players game the system?

The Green Bay Packers are putting up shares in the team for fans to buy at $300 a pop. Will there be any long-term profit in it or is it just for bragging rights?

UCLA and USC are set to play in the annual LA cross-town rivalry game on Saturday. Can the Trojan defensive line stop Bruin running backs Zach Charbonnet and Brittain Brown with Drake London on the sidelines? (Hint: The guys think UCLA has the edge this year). Drake London is one of the best wide receivers in college football but was only able to play in eight games with over 80 catches this season before being injured. As a semi-finalist for the Biletnikoff Award for the best college wide receiver or tight end, does he have a chance to win without finishing the season?

In the coaching department, USC is struggling with an interim head coach, and Mel Tucker from Michigan State has been talked about as a possible candidate for the job. Could he be tempted to move out west, or will the Spartans fight (and pay well) to keep him? The University of Washington has made overtures to Chip Kelly to relocate back up north. Will he stay at UCLA to finish out his contract or will he go? Coach Steve Sarkisian has a 4 – 6 record at the University of Texas at Austin this year. There’s been a lot of pressure on him to win – so why isn’t that happening?

With so much going on in the football arena this week, the guys didn’t forget about basketball. Art’s closing thoughts for the future of this season’s rendition of the Lakers? Don’t give up on them yet!
