Steph Curry did a great job hosting the ESPYs. He displays a lot of class in how he presents himself and shows a good deal of talent in everything he puts his hand to, not just on the court but in other areas of sports and entertainment. Are more hosting opportunities in his future?

Basketball legend Charles Barkley has been offered a lucrative paycheck as a commentator for the LIV Golf League. He has played golf for years and has a lot of side deals in sports and the media. Is he turning his focus towards the links and away from the court?

James Harden is taking $25M less over two years from the Philadelphia 76ers, helping free up money for the team (which also features Steph Curry’s brother) to afford to bring more talent on board. Should other high-profile athletes follow his example?

California Governor Gavin Newsom was behind bringing the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deal to the NCAA, allowing student-athletes to make large sums of money. Now he says that UCLA does not have the right to jump from the PAC-12 to the Big 10, following USC, without the OK from the other schools in the UC system. Does he have the power to stop the move as the Chancellor of California Universities? The transfer will mean about $120M+ for each school, which is over double what UCLA and USC are currently making as part of the PAC-12. Are there more schools to fill the void when they leave, or will the PAC-12 dissolve?

The MLB All-Star Game drew 500,000 fewer viewers this year than it did last year. Has the organization lost its connection to the fans? How did the NL lose for the ninth year in a row? What was the reasoning behind having the players miked up while playing? Does it make a mockery of the game? And why were the uniforms so drab?
