Ten million people tuned in to witness LSU beat Iowa in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship game. The Women’s tournament historically draws fewer viewers than the Men’s, and the athletes garner less recognition. Will the precedent set by a bigger, more mainstream audience bring better media coverage and a higher percentage of fan interest to this underserved sector in the future?

UConn bested San Diego State in the final of the Men’s NCAA Basketball tournament, winning their 3rd championship in this century alone. Was there an East Coast bias in Bill Raftery and Grant Hill’s commentary on the game by not giving West Coasters San Diego State enough credit for their performance this year? Will viewership dwindle now that Jim Nance has retired from calling the tournament, and how will fans feel about his replacement?

The MLB has changed the size of the bases from 15×15 to 18×18 to encourage more stolen bases and influence the analytics. Are the Dodgers going to be able to take advantage of the new base sizes and increase their stolen bases with the current lineup, and does their loss of some key players in the postseason mean they need to change their tactics? Is President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman giving too much credence to analytics? Should Dave Roberts continue to play Mookie Betts, arguably the best right fielder in baseball, at 2nd base? Does that open him up to more possibilities of season-ending injuries, as evidenced by his recent collision with another player on the field chasing a popup?
