After almost three decades, the NFL Sunday Ticket is moving from DirecTV to YouTube. The fees will be $65/month for YouTube and $400 for the Sunday Ticket package for subscribers. Is it a money grab, with the cost going from $200 to $400 and pricing many families out of the market? Has the NFL pulled the plug too soon? Will the effort to have viewers cut the cord and move to individual network paid streaming services alienate those who still rely on cable? Are these services too expensive and their technology too unreliable, with multiple-room streaming/reception problems, to be embraced by all the fans? And what about the dwindling number of actual seats being filled during games?

The great MLB player swap is in full swing, with the San Francisco Giants almost signing shortstop Carlos Correa but deciding not to after his physical, leaving the door open for the New York Mets to scoop him up. Was there something the Giants didn’t like in his results or were they balking at spending the money? Are the Mets doing a better job with their budget? How about the Dodgers? Are they making sound decisions for the good of the franchise? They laid out a good chunk to retain Clayton Kershaw so he could finish out his career as a one-team pitcher. Should they have kept Cody Bellinger by agreeing to his two-year contract request instead of offering a deal for one season and opting to keep Max Muncy? Former Dodger AJ Pollock is a free agent, so could he end up back with the Boys in Blue? What’s fueling the choices being made by management in LA? Are analytics keeping them from signing players that would help the team, or is there more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye??
