This week, the UCLA vs. Utah basketball game will play out in front of a full crowd on Fox Sports1 instead of their usual Pac-12 or ESPN networks with color commentary by Bill Walton, leading Fred and Art to a comparison of his announcing style with their own.

The NCAA ruling on the transfer portal gives individual conferences the ability to make their own rules determining how long athletes can play in college, taking Covid and extensions into consideration. Does the transfer portal give richer schools too much of an advantage in being able to offer players more money than other, less well-funded schools? Should college athletes be allowed to transfer multiple times to ensure more minutes on the field and to make as much money as they can before pro careers even start? Will gambling be a problem?

UCLA has agreed to a four-year contract extension for Chip Kelly, after much speculation as to whether or not he would finish out the upcoming final year of his existing contract. Several players have made use of the transfer portal under his watch, but Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Zach Charbonnet have opted to return to help the team offensively. Now that the defensive coach Jerry Azzinaro has resigned, where does that leave the Bruin defense?

What does the future look like for the Lakers? Is the team too injury-prone and in need of younger players? Why did Russell Westbrook leave a game early? And is LeBron James the real general manager?

It’s down to the big NFL divisional matchups this weekend as the race to the Super Bowl heats up:

– Rams vs. Buccaneers

– 49ers vs. Packers

– Bengals vs.Titans

– Chiefs vs. Bills

There’s a lot of exciting football ahead – who will be the Final Four?
