Fred and Art wonder why no US-born African American players are on either team in the World Series this year. Is there more that can be done to engage children in sports at an early age, especially in the inner city, and create opportunities for every kid to be part of team activities?

Friday is the big day as the World Series starts in Houston, with the Astros facing off against the Philadelphia Phillies. Is it Dusty Baker’s turn, as he has the most regular-season wins in MLB history for a manager without a World Series title? Or will Aaron Nola bring his A-game for the Phillies? Game 2 will be on Saturday, with Sunday as a travel day to Philadelphia. Baseball on Sunday used to be a tradition, but now the NFL has games scheduled for the whole day on Sunday and various other times during the week. Has the NFL taken over all the prime spots as far as TV goes?

The top 10 NCAA quarterbacks have been named, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson of the UCLA Bruins, who has thrown over 300 yards this season, has been left out. He has a better record than some of the QBs who did make the cut and play for teams UCLA has already beaten, so why isn’t he included? What criteria must be met to join that group?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing at home against the Baltimore Ravens. With all of the injuries on the Bucs and everything that Tom Brady has been going through personally, will they be in top form since both teams need a win? Or are the Ravens in better shape?
